Merokalam (merokalam.com) is a free online tools platform focused on Nepal, operating since 2013. Read more on our About page. We build and maintain free digital tools for Nepalis in Nepal and around the world, including date converters, text converters, calculators, and more.

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use any tool or page on merokalam.com.

Information We Do NOT Collect

To be completely clear:

  • We do not require you to create an account to use any tool
  • We do not store the text, dates, amounts or any input you enter into our tools

✅ Every tool on Merokalam runs entirely inside your browser. When you convert a date, type text, or calculate an EMI, that data never leaves your device. It is never sent to our servers.

Information We May Collect Automatically

Like all websites, our web server may log basic technical information when you visit, specifically:

  • IP address: your internet provider's address, used only for server security and abuse prevention
  • Browser type and version: to help us test that tools work across browsers
  • Pages visited and time spent: aggregated, anonymous traffic statistics

Some tools on Merokalam fetch live data from external sources:

  • The Currency Exchange Rate tool fetches rates from Nepal Rastra Bank's public API
  • The Gold & Silver Price tool fetches live bullion rates from a public data source
  • The QR Code Generator uses the open-source QRious library, which runs entirely in your browser with no external calls

When you use tools that fetch live data, your browser makes a direct request to the data source. We do not intercept, log or store these requests. Please refer to the respective data provider's privacy policy if you have concerns.

Contact Form

Our Contact page has a simple form where you can optionally share your name and email to reach us. Information submitted through this form is:

  • Used only to read and respond to your message
  • Never shared with any third party
  • Never used for marketing or promotional purposes
  • Deleted once your query has been resolved

Submitting the contact form is entirely voluntary. You can also reach us directly via email if you prefer.

Children's Privacy
